WHAT IS VIRTUAL THERAPY?
As you might suspect, Virtual Therapy, (otherwise known as telemedicine, teletherapy, or video therapy), is an offering where you meet with me for a session remotely via video. Sessions look almost the same as they would in-person, except we are convening online instead. This option works amazing for some and isn't the most ideal for others (see below).
Virtual Therapy is being offered to all clients, new & current, at this time! With current shelter-in-place orders, in person sessions are not possible, but I am so grateful to have the accessibility to working remotely!

HOW DO I KNOW IF VIRTUAL THERAPY COULD WORK FOR ME?
Reasons Virtual Therapy could be a good option for you:
Reasons In-Person Sessions would be the best fit:
- Commuting and a challenging schedule makes it difficult or impossible to get to in-person psychotherapy sessions.
- There are limited options for psychotherapists where you are living (small community, rural).
- You are moving to a different part of California and want to continue to still work with me.
- Managing physical disability, chronic illness, chronic pain, or any physical limitation that makes travel challenging.
- Frequent work travel that makes it hard to maintain consistent sessions for in-person therapy.
- You have reliable access to high speed internet
- You feel good about, or are at least open to, having support from a therapist in a virtual setting.
- You have a safe and confidential space for weekly hour-long sessions.
- Feel confident that your home environment would not be distracting.
- You are a new parent and have a hard time finding childcare.
Reasons In-Person Sessions would be the best fit:
- Not having a safe or confidential space/home
- Dealing with a current/active crisis
- Having a diagnosis that requires a greater level of support
- Managing/struggling with addiction
- Are actively suicidal
- You have unreliable high-speed internet
- Dislike or feel challenged with connecting & communicating via screens/online platforms.
- You feel distracted by other computer-related tasks when virtual.
