So you read a bit about how I work and you are curious about individual therapy? Perhaps this process is brand new to you, or maybe you have been on this journey for a long time. Either way, I am grateful that you have found me and I am excited to answer any questions you have.
Individual psychotherapy is a collaborative and creative process between the you and myself. What does a therapy session look like?
A therapy session usually lasts for 50 minutes. Sometimes you may benefit from or desire longer or more frequent sessions. This is something that can be discussed within the work together to make sure that you are getting the most support you desire! The session itself can look different for each person depending on the clients interests and the modalities I feel are clinically and intuitively relevant to include. More often than not I incorporate discussions, tools and experientials that are rooted in somatic psychology, transpersonal/spirituality, art therapy, social justice orientation and trauma-informed practices.

How long will I be in therapy?
I see therapy to be a nonlinear creative process, with each session it's own unique piece of art. Sometimes it is very clear when we have reached a set goal and a specific chapter has come to a close. Often, once a goal is achieved, another layer of the healing work is revealed. The length of therapy is truly up to you and part of my role is to make sure that you can feel empowered to make that decision when the time comes.
